Newsletter March 2016

Dear Parents,

Proclamation Day
This Tuesday, March 15th is Proclamation Day. Every Primary School in Ireland will raise the Irish Flag presented to them by the Defence Forces earlier this year. In October 2015, we received our Irish Flag. This coming Tuesday we will celebrate and commemorate 1916 on Proclamation Day. We intend to raise our Irish Flag at 1.30 pm. We have invited Gary Mullin who recently represented Ireland in The Footgolf Worldcup in Argentina where he placed 11th in the World. We will also have two representatives from the army present, John Flannery and Alan Kelly. Pat Kelly will also be present representing our National Police Force, An Garda Siochanna. The children will sing the National Anthem as the flag is raised. Parents are invited and welcome to attend if they are in a position to do so on Tuesday. The pupils from the Senior classes have been working on projects based on 1916 and these will be on display in the GP Hall. There will some some light refreshments for everyone afterwards.

Easter Holidays
The School will be closed from Thursday March 17th to Sunday April 3rd. The last term of school begins on April 4th.

Easter Cake
A parent has created an Easter Themed Cake for a fun raffle to take place on Proclamtion Day. Anyone who would like to enter the draw can bring in 1 euro on Monday to be in with a chance of winning the cake!

Kind Regards

E. Gibbons
