Newsletter 2 – October 2016

Dear Parents,

As part of the Baboro Children’s Arts Festival, we have arranged a group booking for one the shows at The Black Box Theatre on Monday October 17th. The title of the show is ‘Graffiti Classics’. It is a show/story told through the medium of drama and various forms of music in the form of a live orchestra. This will cost each pupil €8. The show tickets are 6 euros and 2 euros is going towards the cost of the bus. The bus is also being subsidised by the school.  We will leave the school at 10:30 approx. All of the children will be back on time for both 2pm and 3pm collections. (please cut off the permission slip at the end of this newsletter and return it to the school along with 8 euros)

Ian Jackson, well known author of The Big Fat Pig book characters will visit the school on Tuesday 18th October to do a writing workshop.

From Monday 17th October to Friday 23rd October is The Childline Cheerios Breakfast Week. This is a National Fundraiser to raise money for Childline. It is also a social occasion for pupils, parents and school staff to come together for breakfast! We will hold a Childline Cheerios Breakfast on the morning of Wednesday 19th October. Breakfast will be served in the G.P  hall for all childrens starting at 9:20am. Parents and younger/older siblings who want to come along are also welcome. The more the merrier. We intend to serve cereal, tea/coffee, toast.  It is recommended by Childline that a €4 donation per person is made but whatever you wish to donate is perfectly fine also.
Drama/Gymnastics
Eleanoir Cazabon Regan will attend the school again this year to teach the pupils drama and gymnastics. She will attend the school every Friday from October 14th for 8 weeks, 4 weeks of drama and 4 weeks of gymnastics. Each child is asked to bring 2 euros to school every week for drama/gymnastics.
Book Bills
Book bills will be issued by Friday or early next week and we would ask that they paid in full by the Halloween Holidays.
